Hakeem sat on his porch. He was in a deep thought. He was in a really deep thought – almost a trance.. At this point he heard nothing but the wind in his ear but now has become numb inside his head; it was an everlasting sound. The smell of garbage, grass, and mud snuck into his nose and the beaming sun only made it worse. It was like this because it had rained the night before. He felt the very meager amounts of water on his chair as he sat there. But he could care less; he was in a Trans of nature consuming his very body and mind. He felt seduced by the whisper of the wind, the water’s soft but almost sensual touch on his back. He was aroused by nature’s perfume of wet grass and mud. Yet as beautiful and sexy as nature was, it seemed that she forgot to take a shower. Did nature forget to take a shower before she put on that nice smelling perfume? Hakeem figured she didn’t; her scent of garbage gave it away. But just like nature was polluted with garbage Hakeem’s thoughts were polluted by in interruption. Later he will once again escape into his trance.

The sky resisted light and ominous winds blew through watchful clouds, as Alessandro Massimo stood perfectly balanced on top of the Torre Dei Lamberti. Alessandro gazed intently at the piazza erbe, at the merchant stands crowded on the sides of buildings that have endured the ravages of time; from the maternal protector of Verona, Alessandro plotted his conquest. He eloquently strode to the edge of the tower and flipped over the wall, strong and yet delicate gloved hands gripped the rim as legs that seemed specifically toned for scaling the wonders of architecture kept him steady. He methodologically moved down the tower, so fluid were his movements that any spectators would not have any idea at what they watched. Perfectly fitted leather boots found footholds where others would not and in mere minutes he stood on the ancient rooftops of the houses of Verona. He could smell the flustered excitement of the merchants and their wealthy consumers. Wealth they did not deserve. Wealth he would soon acquire. He stared at his piazza, the buildings were of brown and red chipped and faded brick; many of these buildings still stood from the 14th century. He knew them all too well, the structures, the footholds, the weak areas, the balconies and stairs and secret passages through each home as if he had lived in each for a separate eternity.

Wearing his favorite blue and purple striped tie Michael kisses his sleeping wife good bye and starts the early morning car ride to work. Pulling out of his drive way he opens his mouth wide and drowns his lungs in air. The scent fine leather consume his sense of smell while the picture of his twenty two year old son pinned to his dashboard cheers him up but is quickly followed by slowly lowered eyes of disappointment. His posture is poor, his shoulder are slouched and his eye lids are open just enough to the road. He pulls into a Starbucks drive through and patiently waits for his turn to place his order for a large coffee. As Michael receives his coffee he takes of the lid off to inhale the aroma. The warm steam feels good as it makes contact with his still somewhat frozen cheeks and nose. He begins to think about the long list of things at work he has to do today and the many employees that work for him. He thinks about the cold winter day to come in Chicago and how the sky will be shrouded in overcast clouds. The conversation in his mind is annoyingly interrupted by his loud cell phone. One look to see who it is and he presses ignore. “Third time this week.” he says in his head as he puts his phone back into his pocket.

After fastening the Velcro straps of his Teflon vest, Tommy peered over the tall building and decided that he was not close enough to inflict the pain that he desired. “I can’t hit ‘em all from right here. Fuck I think I got… a John Muhammad .223 rifle with the scope? I gotta get up on ‘em and make ‘em feel me,” Tommy thought to himself as he planned his next move. The helicopter’s presence became stronger as its force blew around the gravel layering the roof of Robert F. Wagner’s Housing Project building. “This is the NYPD. Lower your weapon and place your hands in the air. This is your first and last warning! Failure to do so will result in deadly force,” the helicopter’s intercom firmly stated in a robotic voice.
Blatantly ignoring the command to surrender, Tommy headed toward the roof’s black door, zigzagging to nearly miss a vicious storm of gunfire being hailed from the city’s black sky. Tommy’s knees buckled up and down as his tight laced sneakers slid on off the edges of the grimy steps. After anxiously stumbling down sixteen flights of stairs, Tommy began hyperventilating while feverishly in search of a place to lay low until they pulled up. Tommy crouched behind a large green metal garbage can and cocked the chamber of the AK-47. As anticipated, the screeching tires grew closer to the alley; it was a sign of relief for Tommy because he was ready. “You can’t kill what’s already dead,” Tommy sprung up and screamed as thunderous bursts of power exploded from the fiery nozzle.

Dante laid in the ground, his back stinging. Suddenly, a voice called him. “Dante?” Dante groaned in response. “You doin it again?’ Dante groaned again. “You need to stop,” the voice said. Or you’ll get killed. It’s cutting into your work time.” Dante got up and looked into the brown eyes of a beautiful young lady. “Afternoon, Abby,” Dante said casually. “How are you this fine day?” Abby rolled her eyes. She was wearing her dark hair down. She had on dirty pants and a shirt with dark pants. Her skin was caramel. To Dante, she was the most beautiful thing on the plantation. He gazed at her, ignoring whatever she was saying. Abby finally noticed Dante was not listening. “Dante!” She exclaimed. Immediately, Dante snapped out of his daydream. “You’ll get beat to death if you keep on that scribblin.” “It’s not scribbling,” Dante retorted. “It’s art..writing. And I’m tired of all the beatins…so I’m runnin away.” Abby opened her mouth, apparently about to speak. Instead, she grabbed Dante and kissed him passionately. When it was over, Dante glared. “Not even your kisses can make me stay, Abby,” he said darkly. “If I can get people to appreciate my writins, I can change the course of life for our kind.” Abby pressed her hand to her head. She finally looked at Dante and smiled. “If that’s what you want to do…then do it,” she sighed. “Just be careful.” “I will,” Dante assured.
Mr. K and Mr. K
ReplyDelete“Stop right there young man!” says Mr. K.
He is the best teacher in the world.
James knows he shouldn’t be running into class.
But he can’t help it, he is so excited.
Today is show and tell; he brought his pet rabbit.
His name is Mr. K too!
“James, come here.” Says Mr. K,
“Yes Mr. K,” James quietly replies.
“What are the rules for show and tell?” Mr. K asks.
“We must bring something that is very important to us. And, it can’t move or be alive.” James replies with his head held down.
But James has brought his pet rabbit; Mr. K
All the other kids looked at James with great alarm. He did what none of them would do. He did what Mr. K. said he should not do. But no one understood why the two Mr. K’s were in the same room, except little James McGee.
Today was supposed to be the last show and tell.
But James had not gone. He believed it was because he went against the rules. James was so upset that he went into the bathroom and began to cry. “Why can’t I make Mr. K. see that I only brought Mr. K. because they mean the most to me?”
“Alright class, now we will have our last 4 students presents their objects.” Says Mr. K.
James’ name has been called. He is so happy now. He can finally tell everyone. Why did it take so long? Dang man, I really thought I was not going. He thought to himself.
“Hi, I am James McGee, and today I want to show and tell my pet rabbit. His name is Mr. K. yes, just like our teacher Mr. K. I first got him, when I started this class. My mom told me I could have one pet. So I asked for the rabbit. Then in May we started school, so I named him may. That was until I met, Mr. K. which is my favorite teacher of all time. These 2 Mr. K’s are the most important to me, because I love them both.
Everyone now could see why James went above and beyond the rules. All Mr. K. the teacher could do; tell the students there would be more show and tells. And all the things truly important were now allowed.
Spacing out
ReplyDeleteI be tweekin in class. When I tweek I space out look out into a universe that I never been to, a place where I can call my own. When you smell my planet you smell money. When you come to my planet you see a dark side and you see a light side all I’m say is you better land on the right side. Because on the dark side money rules the world and its about to end as we know it and that side of the planet is about to break off and we all know it. Some people don’t have enough money to live out in the light side so they have to live out on the dark side. On the light side there’s hope for the children, there are opportunities for the people who don’t have lives and people who made it out the dark side. My tweekin state of mind I space out far out that’s what I’m all about. A young mindful kid with a lot of ideas in his head, “BAM,” another idea but that’s another story.
Mason Goes To Bed
ReplyDeletePart 1
The 65 inch HD T.V. glowed different colors. Mason watched intently, his eyes never left the screen. Right when the show went to commercial, Mason’s mom walked out of the bright kitchen. She was holding a white dishrag, obviously done dealing with dishes. “Time to go to bed, Mason,” His mom said.
Mason turned to his mom, his lower lip was poked out and he blinked his big brown eyes. Mason’s mom put her hand on her hip. “That won’t work tonight, son,” Mason’s mom said. Before Mason could do anything else, his mom grabbed him by the back of his shirt and headed for the stairs. Mason thrashed, punching, and kicking at nothing but air. Finally, his escaped from his mother’s grasp and rolled away. Mason’s mom raced after him. She tried to grab our mischievous hero but he easily waltzed away from her hand. Mason had gotten away but now, he was cornered. As his mom moved forward, Mason stepped back. “You’re going to bed, son,” She growled. Immediately, mason’s mom lurched forward.
Part 3 to ear at the top of the stairs. “Giving up?” She asked. Mason shook his head and ran down the hallway where another stairway waited. Mason’s mom slowly climbed the stairs and limped to the opposite end of the hallway. Mason looked up at his mom. Suddenly, as quick as a flash, Mason’s mom leaped towards her son. Mason jumped, making his mom miss and tumble down the stairs. She got back up and tried to back up the stairs but stopped. There, at the top of the stairs, lay Mason, sound asleep.
ReplyDeletePart 2 Mason dodged the attack and dove behind his mom. Mason’s mom cried out as she tripped and banged her head against the wall. KA-POW! Seeing his chance to get away, Mason rushed to the kitchen. The kitchen was all yellow with white tiles on the floor. The cabinets were white and the table in the middle of the room was glass. He thought he had gotten away when he heard the annoyed mutters of his mother. A scared look came across Mason’s face. But soon, he grinned. He went over to the sink and grabbed some dishwashing liquid. He poured it all over the floor and ran out of the kitchen. ZOOM! Soon Mason’s mom busted into the kitchen. Her mahogany face was red and her brown hair was ruffled. Dirt was all over her white sundress. She soon ran across the kitchen floor but soon started to lose her balance. Uh-oh! Mason’s mom fell with a BOOM! But she quickly got up to slip and slid in every direction. Finally, she skidded into a cabinet. CLANG! Mason’s mom groaned and crawled out of the kitchen. Mason’s mom came out to find Mason grinning from ear
ReplyDeleteMason Goes To A Restaurant
ReplyDeleteMason sat in the red velvet chair. His head barely showing over the table, he growled in frustration and crossed his arms. “Mason, be supportive,” his mom said. This is your dad’s big break and if he gets this job, we can get you that Water Black Wii. So be on your best behavior and eat the food the men who offered your dad the job’s food…even if it is nasty.” Mason HARUMPHED and growled. The men and Mason’s dad were talking, laughing, and shaking each other’s hand. Soon, the food came. Mason watched in awe as the steam rose from the meal. His facial expression changed when he saw what was on the plate. It was slimy and brown with a bone sticking out of the whole thing. Mason stuck his tongue out and poked the food with a stick. He grabbed a menu and showed his mom the picture of a cheeseburger. “No, Mason,” his mom said. Mason sighed and laid his head back against the chair. He looked up and saw his mom was not looking. Then, he jumped out of the chair and walked around. Soon, mason came to the kitchen. He walked through the door and looked around. And there, on a table, were two cheeseburgers.
Minutes Later…
Mason reached for a cheeseburger but before he could, hand wrapped around his waist. It was Mason’s mom! “C’mon, young man she said carrying Mason out of the kitchen. Mason’s mom thought she was victorious, but she did not notice the empty plate.
